Unruly Receives New TAG Certification On Trust and Transparency

Unruly is one of only six companies worldwide to achieve independent certification status for both TAG’s Anti-Fraud and Inventory Quality guidelines.

The video ad tech company has once again passed its independent certification for both programmes, which offer a common framework for companies to describe and disclose the characteristics of their ad inventory.

Unruly’s sister companies Tremor and Rhythm One also achieved self-certification for both TAG programmes.

TAG (the Trustworthy Accountability Group) is an industry initiative created by the 4As, the Association of National Advertisers and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) to fight criminal activity in the digital advertising supply chain. You can find out more about the initiative here.

Unruly has long been committed to protecting its brand, agency and publisher partners, and not only works with third parties to ensure best-in-class brand-safe practices are in play, but also has a dedicated in-house team and suite of technological solutions called Unruly Shield to ensure these practices are applied on a daily basis.

Jess King, Unruly’s Director of Global Digital Trust and UK Operations, said: “This is fantastic news and makes us one of only a few companies worldwide that has achieved independent certification status for both programmes, which is an incredible achievement and really sets us apart.

“Unruly continues to exceed high levels of transparency to protect every brand, agency and publisher partner we work with, delivering views they can trust, on sites they can trust and with metrics they can trust.”

Unruly’s in-house team also works with trusted partners, including Moat and Integral Ad Science (IAS), to verify both viewability levels and human traffic. Unruly is also certified against JICWEBS’ DTSG Good Practice Principles, is DAA-compliant, Gold Certified by the IAB UK and is a founding member of the WFA Global Alliance for Responsible Media.

Todd Miller, Director of Compliance at TAG, said: “Every recertification is another link in our proven cross-industry barrier against fraud, piracy, malware, and lack of transparency. These recertifications demonstrate that the leading companies in digital advertising will continue to work together to safeguard our ecosystem.”
