Unruly Scales US Commercial Leadership To Meet Growing Outstream And Programmatic Video Demand

Omnicom Media Group Veteran Jeff Minsky Joins Video Ad Tech Company To Help Brands Future-Proof Their Video Strategy

NEW YORK – June 30, 2016 – Video ad tech company Unruly today announces three new senior hires to its rapidly expanding US commercial team.

Jeff Minsky and Steven Sottile join the video ad tech company as SVP Agency & Client Development and SVP, Sales, US, respectively, while Seho Lee joins as VP Programmatic Sales, US. All will be based in the company’s New York office. Sottile and Minsky will report directly into Unruly co-CEO Scott Button, while Lee will report into Sottile. All three bring industry expertise across all areas of video buying – brands, agencies and DSPs.

Minsky, Sottile and Lee join Unruly as the video ad tech company sees accelerated growth across its outstream and programmatic buying platforms, where ad buyers now have access to a billion monthly viewable outstream impressions across hundreds of premium publishers including WSJ.com, Marketwatch and New York Post. According to Forrester, outstream video ads are growing at a faster rate than instream video.

In his new role, Minsky will be responsible for building key agency and client relationships by developing insights-driven analysis of major trends, including further development of Unruly’s Future Video Lab. Sottile will be responsible for growing Unruly’s managed services, which utilizes the company’s proprietary emotional targeting capabilities to reach audiences who will love specific video ads, while Lee will be responsible for managing the growing demand for UnrulyX, the viewable video SSP.

Minsky brings more than 27 years of agency experience as a respected media technologist and digital pioneer. Prior to Unruly, he served as the National Director Emerging Media, Investment at Omnicom driving deals in Advanced TV, Mobile, and Gaming. In that role he advised senior marketers and their teams on the latest technologies and their impact on media consumption. In addition, he was part of a task force dedicated to launching the Programmatic Video Marketplace and represented Omnicom Media Group on AAAAs Data Management Committee co-publishing a report on Data Driven Video. Prior to that, he co-founded OgilvyOne’s Interactive Media Group.

Sottile joins Unruly from Mode Media, a top 10 digital media property and the largest premium video and content platform for independent creators. He also led the digital group, which includes sales, marketing and ad operations, for North America at the Reader’s Digest Association (now Trusted Brands), where he oversaw all aspects of digital advertising across Reader’s Digest, Taste of Home and Haven Home Media. He has also held leadership positions at Conde Nast, Billboard and Haymarket Media.

Lee has been a digital sales leader since the early days of programmatic ad buying, holding several ad tech sales roles, most recently at Sizmek. Prior to that, he held senior sales positions at Millennial Media and Conversant. Lee brings unique value to Unruly with his knowledge of both programmatic and mobile advertising, along with strong relationships with key decision makers from major holding company agencies and their respective programmatic buying units/agency trading desks.

“It’s an exciting day when we can share news that we’ve landed three of the brightest minds in video advertising. The combination of Jeff’s expertise within the field of emerging technologies, Steve’s trusted brand relationships and Seho’s deep knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, positions Unruly at the forefront of video advertising and we look forward to leveraging our super-smart people and our direct relationships with premium publishers to deliver kick-ass results for US advertisers.” said Unruly’s co-CEO Scott Button.
