ONE by AOL Adds Over 1,000 Premium Video Outstream Publishers Through Unruly Partnership

AOL Clients Can Now Access Highly Viewable Video Impression On Premium Publishers Including News.com.au, The Wall Street Journal and The Sun

SINGAPORE & SYDNEY – April 4, 2017 – AOL clients can now access 1 billion more monthly viewable video impressions through a new partnership with video ad technology company Unruly. The partnership brings new, premium outstream video ad opportunities to AOL’s advertising clients and gives Unruly’s publishers access to additional advertisers through the ONE by AOL platform.

By connecting Unruly’s supply side platform (SSP) UnrulyX to the ONE by AOL platform, AOL is opening up new opportunities for advertisers to purchase viewable outstream inventory in either horizontal or vertical video formats across more than 1,000 premium publishers, including News Corp’s owned and operated (O&O) sites such as The Wall Street Journal, The Sun and News.com.au.

UnrulyX, the viewable video SSP, delivers unique premium placements on trusted publisher sites, ideal for advertisers looking for high-impact, high quality viewable ad placements. Viewability is controlled, as the ad does not begin to play unless 50% of the creative is in-view and always allows the user to skip the ad, resulting in viewability rates that are 24% above industry average (Moat).

“The industry continues to look for ways to reach audiences in viewable formats that don’t annoy the user. AOL clients now have access to premium outstream video inventory from Unruly that launches in user friendly formats that only begin to play once in view,” said Unruly EVP, Global Business Development, Kenneth Suh.

“Unruly’s strength of supply complements AOL’s existing partners and O&O inventory from AOL’s brands. Our new partnership will greatly simplify buying for our customers and strengthens our existing and longstanding relationship with Unruly”, said Alex Khan, Managing Director AOL Asia & ANZ.

AOL clients will now also have access to Unruly’s Private Marketplace offerings, which include Contextual PMPs that deliver relevance and brand affinity, KPI-boosting PMPs that pre-optimise for higher completion rates and Emotional PMPs that pre-optimise for emotional response.

Unruly is committed to protecting its partners from non-human and unsafe traffic and is one of only six companies to have received an independent audit certifying its compliance with the Trustworthy Accountability Group’s (TAG) Inventory Quality Guidelines (IGQ).
