Unruly Continues Aggressive Growth In Northern Europe With New Norwegian Office
Social video company now has 12 offices and 130 employees worldwide.
Oslo, Stockholm, London – Thursday, September 12, 2013 – Video technology company Unruly today continues its global expansion and rapid growth by opening an office in Norway.
Advertisers looking to activate Norwegian and pan-Nordic campaigns now have access to Unruly’s industry-leading solutions, which will help them create, distribute and measure their social videos.
The new office in Oslo is the 12th across the world to be opened by Unruly. It will be managed by Nordic Managing Director, Lance Traore. The company has also appointed a team to ramp up revenue and run sales, media and operations to help advertisers take advantage of the explosion in video advertising.
Christoffer Sebastian Groll, Key Account Manager for Unruly, joins from Filmweb, where he spent three years selling digital solutions. He has a decade’s experience in sales and will help manage relationships with media agencies. Unruly has also appointed Hans Christensen as Business Development Manager. Christensen joins from Kelkoo, where he managed strategic partnerships for the Nordics and will be responsible for building out Unruly’s media proposition.
Traore said: “We have established a strong local footprint since opening our Swedish office in July 2011 and now collaborate with the biggest media agencies in the region. Unruly already has significant social video experience in Norway, having run over 100 campaigns through our local blogger activation team. This means we have a potential reach of 65.5% of the Norwegian internet population and 81% of the Nordic internet population (comScore). I look forward to executing more campaigns for leading brands and their agencies across the Nordics.
“In addition, the campaigns we have run in Norway show that there’s a huge appetite for social video, with an average click-through-rate of 3.28% (25% higher than the global average of 2.64%). Online video advertising is the fastest growing category of ad spend in 2012, with 30% annual growth (Zenith Optimedia) and I’m pleased that we can now help Norwegian advertisers take advantage of this huge potential.”
Johan Ydring, Digital Development Director at MindshareSweden, said: “We have been working with Unruly since 2011 and in that time we’ve seen them consistently deliver successful campaigns. Social video is a very interesting space and Unruly is really one of the best at this game.”
Phil Townend, EMEA MD at Unruly, said: “Since inception, Unruly has been committed to helping brands activate their social video campaigns, whether they are based in Singapore, Paris or San Francisco. We’ve worked on award-winning campaigns, most recently Dove’s Real Beauty Sketches (the most shared ad of the year so far), and we feel we’re in a great position to help Norwegian brands crack the code on social video.”
