Samsung Says “I Love You” & UNICEF Launches First Crowdsourcing Campaign: 5 Ads You Should Watch Right Now

Every week Unruly scours every corner of the web for the funniest, saddest and weirdest ads around – then we put them in this handy list so you can catch up before the weekend.

Among the big hitters, we have Apple with an energetic push for its latest smartwatch. The spot features a skateboarder-cum-gymnast dancing his way through New York’s Grand Central Station, culminating in some impressive crowd choreography. Could this be the return of the flashmob?

Meanwhile, Samsung hits a tender note with its love letter to technology-assisted romance. Not content to send a winky emoji, the ad stars young lovers who push the Galaxy Note 8’s capabilities to the max in expressing their undying devotion.

Similarly bang on trend, Sainsbury’s latest campaign was shot entirely on Snapchat Spectacles. While it’s a real blink-and-you’ll-miss-it affair, it’s an exciting glimpse of how established brands are playing around in new mediums.

On the more serious end, UNICEF has partnered with entrepreneur Emma Sinclair on the charity’s first-ever crowdsourcing campaign to support young innovators whose lives have been put on hold in a Jordanian refugee camp.

Filmed inside workshops with camp organisers, this documentary spot shows how these ambitious young people are collaborating on solutions to the problems of daily life as a refugee.

Similarly, Guinness’ latest entry in their ‘Made of More’ series documents the exploits of the ‘Compton Cowboys’, an unusual and innovative program to tackle gang violence in South Central Los Angeles.

Enjoy!
