Pregnant Men And A Dancing Gem: 5 Ads You Should Watch Right Now
Pregnant men waddle around, amateur footballers dis Messi and a PSA sends shivers down viewers’ spines. Only in Adland!
But which are the must-see ads over the last seven days? Well, after a week watching the best (and worst) video advertisements on the net, we’ve picked the five essential ones to watch so you can spend the rest of your time enjoying the, hopefully sunny, weekend.
So without further ado, here is our weekly round-up of the five ads you should watch right now.
Enjoy and have a great weekend
5. Fiber One – Expecting
Ah yes, the food baby. Some of us know that feeling a bit too well for our own good, however, it’s more from having a solo go at a large Dominos pizza than anything this ad is hinting at.
Gross, yes. But then again, we all need a bit of potty humour from time to time.
4. Transport Accident Commission Victoria – There’s No One Someone Won’t Miss
Ooh, we love a good PSA. Are you ready to tear-up?
TAC Victoria puts a personal spin on highlighting the death toll on roads by showing an Australian man the number of people he suggested was acceptable to die on the roads in one year made up of his own family members.
The ad demonstrated that that no one deserves to be a statistic and each person would be dearly missed, particularly young children.
3. adidas – Unfollow feat. Leo Messi
God bless Messi, he loves being in an ad. But that’s not to say that we don’t love the man all the more; he can do no wrong.
However, this isn’t your classic ad that champions famous athletes. adidas has put a new spin on how we look at sports stars with the Create Your Own Game campaign, which encourages amateur players to not just follow others, but to bring their own style to the game.
Too bad some of our own styles just happen to be falling on our faces.
2. Target – Share The Force
Target has compiled Star Wars fans’ favourite memories from 1977 to the present day.
By tapping into consumers’ emotional connection with the film, the discount store has created a video that will make your hair stand on end if you’ve ever attempted a Chewbacca impression.
The Force is strong with this one.
1. John Lewis – Tiny Dancer
Here’s one to get you in the mood for the weekend, folks!
John Lewis has absolutely nailed it with this commercial for home insurance – and it’s no wonder. They brought Dougal Wilson on board to direct it after his stellar work with one of the most loved Christmas ads of all time: Monty the Penguin.
You’d be lying if you said you’ve never rocked out in the living room with a hairbrush in hand. And this is why this spot is awesome, it brings out the tiny dancer in all of us.
Now dance it away, Prime Minister Grant!
