Bacon & Eggs And Prince Harry’s Legs: 5 Ads You Should Watch Right Now

A sneaky peak at the Queen in bed and a hairy mole rising up the ranks to become an unlikely advertising superstar. It’s just another week in Adland.

After a week watching the best (and worst) video advertisements on the net, we’ve picked the five essential ones to watch so you can spend the rest of your time getting lost in the land of cats, goats and pimple-popping clips (you know who you are).

So without further ado, here is our weekly round-up of the five ads you should watch right now.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

5. The Body Shop: Mother’s Day for HM The Queen

Prince William cam gives us the low-down on Mother’s Day in Buckingham Palace: Harry in his undies and the Queen munching on eggs and soldiers in bed – just as we suspected! Not only did this Body Shop ad give us a little giggle, but it also reminded us to get the finger out and treat our mums this Sunday!

4. Australian Marriage Forum: “Marriage Equality? What about equality for kids?”

A rather controversial one, this particular ad had tongues wagging and fists clenching around the Unruly office.  With 19,387 shares, this call-out from the Australian Marriage Forum poses the question:”Marriage Equality? What about equality for kids?” and ranks eighth on our list of most shared ads this week.

3. São Paolo Creative Club: The Fall and Rise of the Mole

Not since Fred Savage’s cameo in Austin Powers has a moley, moley mole graced our screens so powerfully than in this weird ad from the São Paulo Creative Club. The call for ad award entries deserves an award itself, and we’d like to give advertising agency Borghi/Lowe a standing ovation for throwing this magnificent mole into the matrix.

2. American Egg Board: Wake up to Eggs with Bacon

There’s nothing better than the smell of bacon in the morning… Well, maybe not this type of Bacon, but still, we can appreciate how it must be hard putting up with ridiculous puns all the time, so fair play to Kevin for sizzling in this ad for the American Egg Board.

1. Microsoft: Girls Do Science

In celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, Microsoft speaks to young girls to highlight the fact that despite science being popular among girls from an early age, very few actually pursue it as a career.

It’s a subject close to our hearts at Unruly which is why we have placed it at this week’s number one spot. The technology sector is booming, yet the workforce is still overwhelmingly male-dominated.  Our co-founder and COO, Sarah Wood, speaks regularly to encourage more women to enter the tech industry.  To read more about Sarah’s and other female industry leaders’ views on the issue, check out this recent interview in Brand Republic.
