Valentine’s Day And Underwear Play: 5 Ads You Should Watch Right Now

After a week watching the best (and worst) video ads on the web, we’ve picked the five essential ones for you to watch.

In this week’s round-up we have some hilarious Valentine’s Day ads, a training video featuring Snoop Dogg and a trip down memory lane by Calvin Klein. So without further ado, here is our weekly round-up of the five ads you should watch right now.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

5. Burger King

To promote the latest addition to their menus, Burger King brought in new BK ambassador Snoop Dogg to teach staff how to cook the new Grilled Dog. Snoop’s silky wordplay goes down a treat, making this ad just as tasty audibly as it is visually.

4. Nice N’ Easy

The Haircare brand ‘nice’n easy’ has personified the arrival of grey hair. To some it’s a tell-tale sign of ageing, to others an empowering moment of adulthood. However, for these friends, the arrival of the bothersome ‘Greys’ mean leaving them with an existential crisis.

3. Dairy Queen

With Valentine’s Day looming this weekend, it’s only right that a brand approaches the topic with a light-hearted, satirical ad. This entry from Dairy Queen (DQ) contains all the elements of a 90’s jewellery brand, with the sepia/ granular lighting being our favourite touch. However, one small twist injects a serious amount of humour. Well played DQ.

2. Match.com

Match.com’s Valentine’s Day ad has all the suggestive qualities you would expect from a dating website promotion around this time of year. Grooming, pre-date prepping, cooking and a cheesy soundtrack are certainly a good starting point for a campaign. Yet Match.com flips this scenario on its head with the line “Happy Valentine’s Day to all the singles. Enjoy it, because it won’t last”.

1. Calvin Klein

Remember the famous Calvin Klein 1991 starring Marky Mark? Well, the fashion brand has taken a trip down memory lane by re-imagining the 90s ad using stars that weren’t even born when the original spot was released. Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Fetty Wap all strut their stuff in the new-look ad, which is part of the #MyCalvins campaign, synonymous with influencer marketing across social media in 2015.
