Unicorn Poopers And Back To The Future: 5 Ads You Should Watch Right Now
Constipated unicorns, smelly breath and talking in tweets. It could only be Adland.
After a week watching the best (and worst) video advertisements on the net, we’ve picked the five essential ones to watch so you can enjoy your weekend.
So without further ado, here is our weekly round-up of the five ads you should watch right now.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!
5. McDonald’s – Celebration
Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon were first to show us how to #hashtag in real-life. Now, McDonald’s has brought the public’s reaction to its all-day breakfast on Twitter to life – and it wasn’t too far off our own reaction.
YAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS #boomshakalaka.
4. Squatty Potty – This Unicorn Changed The Way I Poop
A forewarning before watching this ad – you may never look at ice cream in the same way ever again.
This spot from Squatty Potty shows that just because your product is taboo, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it. And when it comes to toilet-humour, there’s no one better for the dirty job than Poo-Pourri-famed Harmon Brothers.
Despite being about two minutes too long, we forgave the potty brand for its toilet gags.
3. Plan UK – The Lesson #LearnWithoutFear
Children’s charity Plan UK has launched a shocking campaign highlighting sexual violence towards young girls.
The distressing ad highlights that over 150million girls have become victims of attacks, with many happening in schools, where they are meant to feel safe.

2. Pepsi – The Future Is Now
Great Scott – it’s only 12 days to go until the date Marty McFly and Doc punched into the DeLorean in Back to the Future II. And although we don’t quite yet have flying cars and holographic billboards, brands have been making some recent developments to ensure the cult hit’s predictions weren’t too far off.
This summer, Lexus dropped a real-life hoverboard on us (and yes, we freaked out). Next, Universal Pictures released a trailer for Jaws 19. Now, Pepsi has teamed up with the same creative agency that designed its futuristic bottle from the 1989 sequel to bring 6,500 of them to life.
If you do manage to get your hands on one, here’s hoping you’re thirsty as it will set you back a massive $20.15!
1. Extra Gum – The Story Of Sarah And Juan
There’s nothing less romantic than a first kiss with dodgy breath, so I guess it makes sense for Extra to highlight the role of gum in young romances.
Despite the rather intrusive branding at the end, this short-film is utterly charming and will give you more chills than a minty-fresh chew.
A very wise change of direction for the brand after those cringe-inducing Ashton Kutcher spots.
