#UnrulyTrustTalks Brings Some Fiery Debate to London’s Hospital Club!
We kicked off the Unruly Trust Talks event series in London this Tuesday with The Great Programmatic Debate – welcoming 150 guest and 20 speakers across four panels.
The panel discussions featured players from across the industry including Wavemaker, Accenture Digital, The Economist, Zoopla, Omnicom and Carat discussing topics ranging from the impact of GDPR on programmatic buying and selling to the future of the connected home.
Unsurprisingly a recurring topic discussed on all the panels was GDPR legislation. Speaking during the ‘Is winter finally over for publishers?’ session Daniel Spears, Programmatic Director at the Guardian, said: “the ad industry is at a crossroads, and now we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to reset digital advertising for the benefit of advertisers and publishers”.
Later, during the same panel, Digital Sales and Innovation Director at The Telegraph, Karen Eccles also spoke optimistically about GDPR saying, “The regulation puts the control back in the hands of publishers. We’ve always safeguarded our user’s data, and built trust by doing so.”
Stay tuned for more highlights from The Great Programmatic Debate in the coming weeks, as well as details of our next Unruly Trust Talks event. In the meantime, check out our highlights video below and some best bits on Twitter!
