4. TAG And JICWEBS Combine Brand Safety Measures

Cross-industry brand safety trade bodies TAG and JICWEBS this week announced they are combining forces to tackle brand safety and anti-fraud issues within digital advertising.

The new initiative will be executed in three stages: JICWEBS offer TAG Registration in the UK market; JICWEBS’ existing anti-fraud schemes merging with TAG’s Certified Against Fraud programme; and an overall alignment of the two organisations’ brand safety initiatives.

 

3. UK Digital Trends Report Sheds Light On Consumer Attitudes

A major report from eMarketer released this week lifts the lid on the UK’s digital landscape – with a particular focus on the rise of mobile video. eMarketer estimates that 81.1% of the UK population will use smartphones this year, while the time consumers are spending with mobile devices will rise to 2 hours, 40 minutes.

 

2. German Advertisers Embrace Programmatic

eMarketer has also unveiled research into the German programmatic landscape estimating programmatic ad spend in the country will total €1.44 billion in 2018 – an increase of 29.7% from last year.

This boom is, unsurprisingly, being felt most strongly across mobile – with mobile programmatic set to account for nearly 60% of mobile display spend in 2018.

 

1. Norm Johnston Named CEO Of Unruly

Norm Johnston, Global CEO of Mindshare FAST and Mindshare’s Global Chief Digital Officer, was today named as the new CEO of Unruly.

Johnston will replace outgoing CEO and co-founder Sarah Wood, who announced in October she will be taking up the role of Non-Executive Chair of Unruly’s Board of Directors. Based in London, Johnston will report to Rebekah Brooks, CEO of News UK, which acquired Unruly in 2015.
