Unruly insights from Spikes Asia

APAC digital marketers need to up their measurement game. At least, that’s the message from IAB Singapore, who this week released a series of guidelines aimed at digital marketing professionals across Southeast Asia.

The world of digital video is booming, with global video ad spend expected to increase 34.6% to $17.68b in 2016 (source: eMarketer), while in SEA 40-45% of all online video is predicted to be delivered programmatically by the end of the year (source: TubeMogul).

SINGAPORE – July 28, 2016 – Video ad tech company Unruly has launched a new video lab designed to help advertisers and publishers harness the power of emotions and embrace polite ad formats in order to combat the rise in ad blocking software.

A recent survey from the video ad tech company found that 90% of APAC consumers (source: Unruly Future Survey) would consider using software to block adverts online because they feel there are too many ads and they find them “creepy”.


Hot off the presses – The Unruly APAC team has walked away winners from the prestigious GroupM Awards for the second year in a row. 

Unruly’s Vijay Kunduri and the team picked up the award for “Best Engagement Media” at the world’s largest advertising media company’s annual awards ceremony.


ASIA-PACIFIC – Video platform Unruly has opened its Asia headquarters in Singapore and plans to expand operations to Japan, Australia and South Korea.

At present, Unruly has 12 offices including London, New York, San Francisco, Hamburg and Paris. Phil Townend, the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa MD, will relocate to Singapore to lead the regional rollout.
