One of the most powerful ads launched in conjunction with this year’s International Women’s Day is P&G’s “#WeSeeEqual”.

The video, created by the agency behind the highly successful “#WomenNotObjects” campaign, tries to shatter traditional gender stereotypes using footage taken from user-generated videos partially sourced by Storyful.

Paralympics promo from British broadcaster Channel 4 takes gold in Rio as ads from Under Armour, Nike and P&G also make the all-time top 10

Monday, August 22, 2016 – Half of the top 10 most shared Olympic ads of all time come from the Rio Games.

That’s according to data released today by video ad tech company Unruly, which puts ads from British broadcaster Channel 4, Under Armour, Nike and P&G in the all-time chart.

The Rio Olympics are so close now we can almost smell the Deep Heat. So, while the world’s biggest brands and advertisers get ready to battle it out, we thought we’d identify some of the key creative ad trends we have already noticed ahead of next Friday’s Opening Ceremony.

Certainly, looking through this year’s crop of ads, it’s already clear that advertisers aiming for gold  in 2016 are dialling up the emotional intensity of their content. We’ve already seen plenty of stark imagery, pounding soundtracks, and emotive speeches – all things that get people talking about and sharing ads.

Cannes Lions may be over, but before we put the cork back in the bottle of rosé for another year, we thought we would share some insights from a presentation we watched last week from P&G.

The consumer goods giant pulled out its marketing heavyweight, Global Marketing and Brand Building Officer Marc Pritchard, to entertain the crowd with a session on “Raising The Creative Bar” last Thursday that was smoother than a baby’s bum (presumably after using Pampers).

Filled with branded videos, some hands-up honesty, and a couple of world exclusives – the talk certainly didn’t disappoint the jam-packed auditorium.
