The Apprentice: Unruly’s Sarah Wood Part Of TV History

TV history was made last night – and Unruly’s COO and co-founder Sarah Wood was lucky enough to have a front row seat.

Sarah was invited on to The Apprentice: You’re Fired in the UK as the show’s business expert to run the rule over this year’s crop of would-be Lord Sugar apprentices.

And what an episode to make her The Apprentice debut, with three candidates being fired for the first time in the show’s 10-year history!

Ella Jade Bitton, Sarah Dales and Steven Ugoalah were all given the finger by Sugar during a tense boardroom scene after their attempts to create a YouTube hit fell flat.

Sarah was joined by host Dara O Briain, Radio One’s Matt Edmondson and comedian Romesh Ranganathan as they picked apart exactly where it all went wrong for the Lord Sugar hopefuls.

This week the apprentices were asked to create their own YouTube video channels. They were then asked to promote them the best they could, the winners being the ones which attracted the most views.

Project leader of Team Tenacity, Ella, decide to focus on fitness, calling their channel “Fat Daddy’s Fitness Hell”, while Team Summit choose cooking, naming their channel “Dare To Dine”.

Neither troubled the YouTube view counter too much (both managed just over 3,000 views), but Summit just did enough to pip Tenacity, who forgot to even add a video title or description, by a few hundred.

That meant a trip to the dreaded boardroom for Ella, who decided to bring in fellow candidates Sarah and Steven. But it was not enough to save her, with all three leaving the show.

Sarah was quick to point out that with 100 hours of YouTube video uploaded every 60 minutes, creating a viral hit is very difficult. However, she quickly rounded on both teams for the content they pushed out.
